David J. Bassham, principal in Bassham & Associates since 1998, uses his extensive experience in adult education and counseling to help individuals and groups through customized training and coaching programs. His programs are designed to deal with a variety of professional and organizational development areas surrounding interpersonal relationship skills, management and leadership development, sexual harassment as well as other human resource related areas.
David’s experience is diverse with management experience spanning nearly 15 years in the Navy and private industry. He has 12 years of classroom teaching experience including an associate professorship at DeVry University where he taught psychology, sociology, human relations, leadership and motivation. In addition, David was formerly a Licensed Psychological Associate in the state of Texas. He has experience in conducting psychotherapy, psychological evaluations, diagnostic clinical interviewing, structured behavioral observation, and the administration, scoring, and interpretation of cognitive, behavioral and neuro-psychological measures. David received his M.S. in Psychology at the University of North Texas and his B.S. in Sociology from New York Regents College.
David has co-authored two books: Developing and Maintaining a Sexual Harassment-Free Workplace and Six Steps to Building a Successful Career. Clients include Southwest Airlines, the U.S. Department of Education, Astra Zeneca Pharmaceuticals, U.S. Pretrial Services, Clark Cincinnati Steel, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Western University of Health Sciences, El Centro College faculty and staff and other government, educational and corporate clients.
He has served as a member of the curriculum development team and presenter for the Dallas Nonprofit Entrepreneur Academy. He is a Past President of the Board of Trustees of the Citizens Development Center, a non-profit United Way agency that provides vocational and rehabilitation services to handicapped adults, and works with the Center for Nonprofit Management in Dallas as a volunteer presenter.
